It happens to me a lot. A lot of because it’s where I spend most of my time when I am in London. When I talk about Hoxton, people always ask “where’s that?” and the answer is always the same, “perhaps one of the coolest places in London”.
It’s no wonder really that sandwich wizard, Sinclair Beecham, co-founder of Prêt a Manger, has recently opened the £17m Hoxton Urban lodge.
The clientele ranges from City slickers to London’s movers and shakers, all sipping on one of the hotels many cocktails from the legendary Blueberry Margarita to the Caramel and Pineapple Mojito.
The Hoxton Grille is the in-house brasserie which combines the classic French bistro with the energy of an American steak house. Set amongst an open-kitchen and bar, the Grille offers culinary comfort dishes from potted shrimp to sausage and mash and for desserts, jam roly poly. It is back to school Parisian style.
It all a bit manic in the Hoxton, chaotic but classy, a bit how I like my friends.
