The Hoxton Grille and the Hoxton Hotel have a lot to offer: a restaurant, a lounge bar with DJs and much Frette bedlinen amid which to crash if haggling with mini-cab drivers feels all a bit too much. And if you're new to town and after a bit of glamour, without the door police, the space could impress.
On a Thursday night cocktails from the ambitious list were nice enough: a Plata Martini, with tequila, espresso and top-end espresso liqueur, was really rather good. Food from the unwieldly menu is retro, comforting, neatly presented and generally serviceable.
