On entering Lincoln’s White Hart Hotel, it’s Room bar that provides the first evidence of this historic building’s hugely impressive refurbishment programme. And it’s a fine start: combining wonderful period details like open fires and ornate mirrors with clean modern lines and contemporary furnishings, it’s a welcoming bar that’s simultaneously timeless and chic. The whole space has been substantially rearranged to produce a stunning open area, as well as plenty of more intimate spots. As ever the bar offers Room’s exceptional cocktail list, and a great selection of wines. Though there is no a la carte service, the bar menu features a great range of small treats and larger plates.
